Date night fashion with

Right, before I start this, I’ve not been on a date for a little while, so take the word date with a pinch of salt & perhaps read it more as “friend date” not “romantic date”. Yeah, let’s do that.

I was recently approached by AdoreMe, a lingerie company who believes in comfort and style (thank you!) to put together an outfit for a date night – something that I would wear that makes me feel good, confident and like I can take on the world. So let’s see what I got…

Obviously the main focus of this post is what’s going on underneath the clothes – what would I be wearing to make me feel confident, but comfy, at the same time? Luckily for me (and you) AdoreMe has a huge variety of styles to choose from! After taking their test, AdoreMe puts together a showroom full of styles that they think you’d like from your answers – let me tell you right now, that showroom is pretty darn accurate; it’s all stuff I’d pick out for myself.

I chose the Elvinia Unlined set in a dusky gray color. This set is definitely something that I’d go for; I’m way more about this kind of style & I much prefer bralettes to be honest. I also much prefer grays to blacks as I’m so pale – although I wear plenty of black clothes, black underwear makes me look super washed out! I’m about to place an order on their website, so I’ll let you know what I think in a later post, if you’d like.

I actually put this outfit together from my capsule wardrobe (you all know how much I love that thing). It’s pretty reflective of my style – I tend to keep it quite simple, but there’s definitely more jewelry (extra necklaces and earrings) involved! Ultimately, the outfit is comfortable (I’m sensing a recurring theme here..), but put together – you don’t want to feel uncomfortable when you’re on a date, let’s be real.

The outfit features stripes (classic Kathryn, where’s the surprise?) and shoes that aren’t going to kill my feet. It’s definitely starting to get a little cooler here in Massachusetts (though not cold enough to need to constantly be in tights or jeans) so I’ve thrown in a cover-up too.

Dress; Forever 21, find the exact one here.

Shoes; Florence&Fred (old) but similar styles at Boden here.

Cover-up; New Look (old) but similar here & here.

Bag; Kurt Geiger (present from friend) but similar here.

Jewelry; a mish-mash of stuff from Lili Clasp, Pandora, gifts and Forever 21. Find similar (and some exact) styles here, herehere, herehere, herehere and here.

What’s your go-to style for a date night? Let me know in the comments below, or tag me (@kathryn_blogs) in your photos on Instagram so I can see!
