Whenever I’m asked what my hobbies are by people, I feel as though I have to constantly rack my brain for answers. In all honesty, until a couple of months ago, I didn’t think that I actually had hobbies. Turns out that I do.
In primary school, my hobbies included music, music and more music. Occasionally swimming or dancing would make its way in there. Oh, and reading too. I can remember my youngest sister desperately wanted to write down sleeping as her hobby; “but I’m really good and it and I reaaally like it”. But now? My hobbies are a little more refined.
Still probably my top hobby is music, but in a different way to when I was 10. The music I was doing then is now my career. Instead, I enjoy listening to music, catching concerts (both classical and popular) and discovering new people to listen to.
Still high up there on my list is reading. I freaking love reading. I used to think it was such a boring hobby, but I’m so glad that I read recreationally – not just for class. I recently picked up some new books to make my way through over the next few weeks and I have some previous book reviews here – be sure to check them out!
Next up, yoga. This is something that I don’t get to do every day, but I try to practice regularly. Not only does it help me stretch out and tone my body, it helps me to gain clarity and provides me with some peace of mind – even if only for 30 minutes! I’m aiming to practice more and more – ideally every day even just for a short amount of time.
Finally, I love traveling – it’s something that I’ve been so lucky to do so much of over the past year or so of my life & I already have some big trips planned for next summer too. My list of places that I want to get to is pretty huge, but be sure to check out all my travel posts right here to see where I’ve been so far!
