The Christmas donation – Blogmas Day 23

In a time of such unrest, intolerance and sadness in the world, there’s one charity that really stuck out to me when I was choosing where to donate this month (last month I donated to Ocean Conservancy): Doctors Without Borders (Medecins San Frontieres).

I’ve known about this charity for years now – I vividly remembers studying them in my IB French class when I was about 16 or 17. I remember doing a presentation on them, researching them and their work and just being in awe of all that they did/do. DWB (or MSF as I got so used to calling them!) work to deliver medical help and assistance to populations and nations torn by war, epidemics and natural disasters. Volunteer doctors work in front-line hospitals, disaster sites, refugee camps and in towns and villages. They provide primary healthcare, perform surgeries and train local medical staff. I can’t help but think that my $10 donation isn’t all that much,  but I know it’ll go somewhere. I know it’ll help someone.

If you want to learn more, or donate, to this charity be sure to check out their website. Where should I donate next month? Let me know your suggestions below! If you’re new and liked this post, firstly hello! how are you?. If you really liked this post, why not check out my other posts (using the tabs at the top of the page) and hit the follow button for more?
