Over the last couple of weeks I’ve picked up a few new beauty bits – everything from cleansers, to eye cream, to eyeshadow. Here’s a little look at what I’ve bought.
L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Cleanser – Detoxify & Brighten: I’ve had this around two weeks or so and have developed a love for using this in the morning. This clay-to-mousse formula feels great on my skin; getting a really deep cleanse without making my skin feel super dry. It also retails unbelievably cheaply: you can grab it in Target for $5.99.
Burt’s Bees Brightening Daily Facial Cleanser: This is my current go to evening cleanser – I’m all about creating my radiance for the next day overnight! After removing my makeup with the Garnier Micellar Water, I use this to really make sure my skin is squeaky clean. I tend to wash it off by just splashing my face with water, but once or twice a week will use a washcloth/muslin cloth to get rid of the dead skin. This, too, retails pretty cheaply and can be found in Target for $7.19.
Burt’s Bees Sensitive Eye Cream: I have to be so careful with what I put around my eyes as they’re super sensitive – hence the choice of an eye cream designed for sensitive eyes/skin. I love this eye cream as it provides hydration without being greasy. It’s also a great base for concealer (at least for me), and a little goes a long way. Pick it up in Target for $8.29.
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask: If I’m being brutally honest, I only really picked this up because my beloved Nuxe Creme Fraiche de Beaute ran out (rip). I did a little bit of research, and this was the night cream that was coming out on top every time – and I can see why. The jelly-like consistency means that this cream isn’t horrendously thick or clogging up your pores. Despite this, it’s unbelievably hydrating, and I’m a big fan of how my skin is currently looking and feeling. Considering how much product you get in the jar (I was very pleasantly surprised), it’s fairly cheap, retailing for $35 in Sephora.
Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask: My love for this product stemmed from the sample I got in a Sephora order. The teeny-tiny sample gave me a good 3 uses of the product which provided my skin with some much needed moisture. I only use this once a week after showering and washing my face – I think any more on my skin would be overkill, to be honest. I love how calm my skin feels after using it! Pick it up in Sephora for $39.
Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum: Like the Ren mask, I received a sample of this with a Sephora order and developed an instant love. I went to add it to my loves and got the shock of my life, quite frankly. $79. I nearly cried. After some serious thinking (talk about a first world mindset….), I ended up going for it and am so pleased that I did. The serum is (along with the other products I’m currently using) making my skin look healthy, but not greasy, which is always good in my book.
VBxEsteeLauder Eye Ink in Black Myrrh: When I saw that my main gal VB had done a big old collab with Estee Lauder, I was all over Sephora like a rash. There were two products that really caught my eye, however. The first was her Eye Ink in Black Myrrh. In the pan, it looks scary – black with flecks of silver and gold glitter. Swatched, it’s not scary at all. It turns out to be more of a very dark, but sheer, grey with a very subtle shimmer to it. It’s extremely build-able and I love to push it into my lash line and buff it out to create a smoky-eye effect. Grab the Eye Ink in Sephora for $45.
VBxEstee Lauder Eye Foil in Burnt Anise: The second product I was drawn to was the Eye Foil in Burnt Anise. I originally saw this on violette_fr‘s Instagram story (Violette is Estee Lauder’s Global Beauty Director), and I knew that I needed it in my makeup collection. I’ve been a long time follower of Violette and am a huge fan of basically any makeup look that she creates, and trust her judgement a worrying amount despite the fact that she has no idea who I am..(hmmm). Anyway, this is a gunmetal grey with a huge amount of shimmer in it. Definitely more of an evening eye look rather than a day one (unless that’s your style, you do you!). This with a bit of the Eye Ink buffed over the top creates a look like no other. Pick up the Eye Foil in Sephora for $40.
