For me, Sunday night is skincare night. I like to think I take fairly decent care of my skin during the week, but Sunday is a time for me to really address any issues and make sure that my face is ready for the week ahead! Here are the products I’m turning to to pamper my skin a little bit more than usual.
It all starts pre-shower with a face mask. My face mask aim is to really get into my pores and clear out my skin – almost give it a little detox, I suppose. I’m currently using a Korres mini face mask that I picked up in Brussels (the Pomegranate one), which isn’t stocked on their USA website. Any mask that claims to purify my skin, however, is good with me! I’m currently eying up L’Oreal’s collection of masks for my next purchase.
Then comes the cleansing. Once the mask has set (I often leave it on for way longer than 10 minutes), I’ll hop in the shower where I use my current go-to evening face wash (yes, I know, I shower in the evening…), the Burt’s Bees Brightening Daily Facial Cleanser. My general skincare aim is glowy and bright, but not oily.
Once I’m out and my face is dry, I’ll use the Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask to 1) soothe my skin and 2) give it a much needed moisture boost. I pop a relatively thin layer on and let it sit for about an hour (it says 20 minutes on the tube, but I need all the moisture I can get!) before I take the very remainder off with a cotton pad. While this is going on, I’ll also slather my lips with some kind of balm – at the moment just Aloe Vaseline – as they’re definitely struggling with the changing seasons!
The three remaining steps of my Sunday skincare are my everyday steps that I take just before I hop into bed. First I pop a few drops of the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum on my face. This product is all about brightening the skin, and I really do feel that it’s made a difference over the past month or so of me using it. While that’s sinking into the skin, I’ll pop a little bit of the Burt’s Bees Sensitive Eye Cream under my eyes, and also over the sockets, just to give them a bit of a moisture boost so there’s a relatively smooth base to work with the next day. Finally, literally minutes before I go to bed, I’ll use the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask. I vary the amount I put on depending on what I feel my skin needs – sometimes it’s just a light layer, sometimes it’s a lot.
